Things I Didn’t Know as a Bonsai Beginner 50 Years Ago

The next meeting of the Ann Arbor Bonsai Society will take place on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, 6:30-9:00 at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens. Jack Wikle, longtime AABS member and nationally recognized bonsai artist, will discuss "Things I Didn’t Know as a Bonsai Beginner 50 Years Ago.” Jack tells us this will be partly reminiscing, but he hopes to do some teaching too . . . sharing his perceptions about bonsai and other trees and how they grow.  Included will be some concepts he sees as under-publicized bonsai understandings.  His alternative title could be “Growing with Trees.” NEW FOR 2017 - One space in each workshop will be filled by means of a drawing. The drawing will take place during the meeting the month before the workshop. Anyone present at that meeting may put their name into the 'hat' for a free spot at the workshop. If the name drawn has already paid for the workshop their fee will be refunded and their space will become available. The drawing for the April workshop will be during this meeting. CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: It is anticipated that construction will be completed by March 22.
